The PLI Conferences will take place this year on June 18 and 19 in Bordeaux, at the Palais de la Bourse. This edition is organized in partnership with Alphanov, Alpha-RLH, Amplitude and Lasea. Eleven internationally renowned guest speakers will be present to share their expertise with you.
Meet one of them, Christian HAGENLOCHER, head of the department for process fundamentals in laser material processing at ISFW.
Dr. Christian Hagenlocher possesses nearly a decade of experience in unconventional advanced manufacturing methods with an applied direction. He is heading the department for process fundamentals in laser material processing at the Institut für Strahlwerkzeuge at the University of Stuttgart (Germany) since 2023. After completing his doctorate in the field of laser beam welding in 2020 he worked as a research fellow at the Centre for Additive Manufacturing at RMIT in Melbourne until 2022. His focus includes innovations in almost all kind of laser material processing with cw and ultrafast laser sources. Noteworthy contributions also include analytical criteria for predicting and adjusting grain structures in laser welds, and insights into heat accumulation effects in additive manufacturing.
What made you want to work in this field?
Laser material processing is (almost) the only manufacturing technology, which is still significantly progressing in terms of innovation New technologies and beam sources are apearing almost every year, allowing us to cover new regimes in laser material processing.
How did you learn about the PLI Conferences and what does this event represent for you?
I was invited by our french collaboration partners.
What will be the subject of your conference?
Potentials of beam shaping strategies in laser welding.
What do you expect from these two days of conferences?
New contacts and insights in the work of the french laser community.
